Between April 28 and 30, 2026, Sveriges Ensamkommandes riksförbund (SEF) proudly participated in the Council of Europe seminar in Strasbourg. Together with NGOs, ministries, decision-makers, and individuals with lived experience from across Europe, we explored the urgent need for stronger legal, social, and psychosocial support systems for young people navigating displacement and adulthood. We discussed ongoing challenges legal insecurity, mental health pressures from uncertainty, and gaps in support. A key takeaway was the importance of safe, informal education and youth spaces, where young people rebuild confidence and belonging. We were honored to share insights from our three-year project supporting transitions from camp to society, and we look forward to collaborating with any organization committed to empowering youth. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and turning shared ideas into meaningful action for young people across Europe.
